The final steps (Poem)

Endurance is a cruel test, A storm that rages in my chest. One misstep, the ground would break, An abyss of ice, a fate to take. But I do not fall, I do not drown, For strength has wrapped me like a crown. I prayed for light, and light was given, A spark within, a heart unshaken. I’ve walked through trials, burned and torn, Yet here I stand, reborn, reborn. The path ahead is cloaked in haze, Yet hope still sets my soul ablaze. They say this storm will strike me down, Yet every wound becomes my crown. They thought they won when I was small, But life had greater plans for all. And so again, this road I tread, With golden light just steps ahead. I count them now, one by one, For when I reach, I will have won.

Seventh floor (Narration)

'Get up, we reached office' my colleague woke me up when we reached Tejaswini building. I got out of the air-conditioned cab, removed my specs and rubbed the moisture filled glasses with my t-shirt. I watched my peers going straight to the office. I followed them, stopped at the elevator and went directly to the food court at the seventh floor. There were people having dinner watching new generation cricket but I didn't see them. I headed towards the balcony and there I reached my favorite spot; top floor balcony of Tejaswini building! I was alone there. I took a cigarette out of my pocket and lit it. I started to speak from my heart and puffed to the air. I saw every word spreading in the dark sky. I was happy to share my feelings with someone who never complained. Looking up my watch, I took one more puff left for office.. (My very first narration, 2010)

July (Short Story)

In a corner of the college library, a Data Structures Schaum's Series book was opened and was staring at the ceiling for long time. I was sitting next, seriously drawing something on a paper. "Beautiful eyes”, Shilpa exclaimed. Looking at my drawing, she asked silently, “Whom are you drawing?” I was bit surprised as I didn’t see her coming. “No one in particular”, I said. After finishing my serious work I asked, "Teacher has not come yet"? "She is on half-day leave. Nobody is in the class”. “Then I think I should be going. You are not going home"? "Yeah, in the evening. By college bus", she said, and resumed reading a giant book, as I left the library. I have been waiting for a chance to go out early. I caught a transport bus which was going to Thampanoor. It wasn't crowded. I got myself a comfortable window seat. I looked at my drawing again and closed my eyes, feeling the wind. "Beautiful eyes," I recalled Shilpa...

Beautiful Smile (Poem)

I woke up with a dream, that I saw a beautiful smile. It whispered like I felt she was kissing on my cheek. I closed my eyes tight to see her smile again. What's special in it that makes me forget myself? I feel awake at night while everyone is at sleep. I walked along the trees where I saw her dance ahead. I hid behind a tree and grabbed her hands with love. She looked frowned at first and smiled when I let her go. I saw the beautiful things my eyes could ever see, I hugged her close to me and wished I never wake up.
