The final steps (Poem)
Endurance is a cruel test,
A storm that rages in my chest.
One misstep, the ground would break,
An abyss of ice, a fate to take.
But I do not fall, I do not drown,
For strength has wrapped me like a crown.
I prayed for light, and light was given,
A spark within, a heart unshaken.
I’ve walked through trials, burned and torn,
Yet here I stand, reborn, reborn.
The path ahead is cloaked in haze,
Yet hope still sets my soul ablaze.
They say this storm will strike me down,
Yet every wound becomes my crown.
They thought they won when I was small,
But life had greater plans for all.
And so again, this road I tread,
With golden light just steps ahead.
I count them now, one by one,
For when I reach, I will have won.
